The Gap Vigil has reached its conclusion after NINETEEN DAYS!    Read the Archive

Vigil-related event schedule:
Wednesday, Oct 25, 11AM (to be confirmed): Press Conference at 850 Bryant (Police HQ) to file harrassment charges.
Wednesday, Oct 25, NOON-2PM:MEET WITH EMPLOYEES at RED'S JAVA HOUSE (Embarcadero St., near Pier 28)

We planted the seeds of empowerment and change among some 1500 Gap Corporate employees, and we brought additional media attention to the issues of Gap Fisher deforestation and Gap sweatshop labor!!! We even taught the Southern Precinct SFPD a few things about First Amendment rights, and may bring that message home via a lawsuit for their transgression of those rights!

THREE MIGHTY CHEERS FOR THIS INCREDIBLY GOOD, FRUITFUL ACTION, the BEAUTIFUL YOUNG ACTIVISTS who launched it, and all the GREAT ACTIVISTS who kept it going!!!

RIGHT NOW we continue to wield much leverage over the Fishers and the Gap, due to Gap, Inc's dire economic woes, created at least in part by our successful Gap boycott! They may never be so vulnerable again! So, we must continue to ESCALATE while we have this unique opportunity to SAVE over a quarter of a million acres of ravaged redwood forestland and to LIBERATE thousands of workers from abject poverty, indignity, and exploitation!!!

P-L-E-A-S-E CONTINUE TO LEAFLET & SPREAD the BOYCOTT MESSAGE at EVERY opportunity, and this will be an Unprecedented Victory for People and Planet Over Heartless Corporate Profiteering!!! LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

CALL FOR NATIONWIDE VIGILS

If we're really going to Close the GAP we need help from all over the country, and hopefully the world.  Our coalition of local activists is calling out for vigils all over the country.  Vigils don't have to be big, and they grow quickly!  Let us know if you are doing a vigil or some other form of action (e-mail closethegap@gofairtrade.net with plans and updates).
