GAP CAMPAIGN 2004

Our goal: To convince the Fisher family of the Gap clothing stores to make their Northern California redwood forests into a wildlife refuge, and to pay their Gap contract workers a living wage.

Right now: The Fishers are destroying 235,000 acres of redwood forest in Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, in northern California, with extensive clearcutting and toxic herbicide use. They are paying the workers who sew Gap clothes as little as 11 cents an hour.
